Problem with new computer build?

Hello posting this on behalf of a friend as he cant sign up.

He's just built a new computer consisting of dfi sli-dr expert motherboard, opteron 146 939, gskill f1 2x512ddr ram and a 8800gts oc graphics card.

When he boot's up hey's getting a blank screen nothing appears, Four red led's are on and the dram power led is on.

He's tryed clearing the cmos, took out and refitted graphics card, ram and hdd just to make sure they wernt the problem.

Any ideas?

Can he take the individual parts and test them in another machine? It sounds as if it's being assembled from used equipment so it helps to know that all the parts work separately before trying them together.
