Think i've narrowed it down to the digital freeview card, seems to happen most when i get a tv channel on there with the provided software and MCE.
Not sure how to correct the problem, its not as if theres any error message or BSOD, it just reboots and is perfectly normal when it does so.

Heres a spec list:

460w Akasa ultra quiet psu
Thermalrock mystic HTPC case
Asus P5LD2 Deluxe
Asus 7300GT 256mb silent PCI-E graphics
Leadtek winfast DTV1000-t freeview card
Belkin wireless adapter
3.33ghz Celeron
Wireless keyboard +mouse
Microsoft Remote
1 Gig of ocz ram (with copper heatsink)
Usb 33 in 1 card reader
Running windows MCE

Hmm tried a simple pci slot swap, lasted for 5 mins so far the longest without rebooting.
I'll leave it on for a few hours and see what happens

*EDIT* ahh nuts it just rebooted

Happens on DVD playback as well

Its not a memory problem

Its not an overheating problem

Could it be a power problem ?

Its just weird how it reboots without BSOD or any event log for it, i've even set the PC to goto BSOD on an error rather than just reboot.

Lol you lot don't mind if i chat away to myself do you :P

Think i've narrowed it down to power consumption problem if theres no bsod, going to try removing some hardware and try again.

The Akasa should handle that no problem, unless it is faulty. How are the rails looking with a monitoring program/BIOS?

Asus PC probe is showing everything within +5 percent

Vcore 1.35v
+3.3 = 3.41v
+5 = 5.25
+12 = 12.14

CPU temp = 32-45 degrees
motherboard 33 degrees

I've been keeping an eye on it before it reboots there no significent fluctuations in voltage or temp, and its just rebooted again after removing the belkin wireless adapter and the tv card so im out of ideas .

Actually got a 'windows has recovered from a serious error' box this time but its all gibberish to me, i really need a bsod

Defineatly only happens when a video aspect is used even on splash screens on bootup of certain cds.
The system could idle and run prgs not using complex graphics and video all day without a reboot

What about safe mode?.....

Really you could do with some other parts to try in the system, graphics card, perhaps memory. Have you tried with just 1 stick of ram?

Hows the bios setup?.... any overclock?

What did the event log say?

p.s. 53C is definately fine for that card.

I tried memtest for an hour and there were no errors.

Haven't tried safe mode yet and there is an overclock feature in the bios thats set to auto but i've tried setting that to manual so i won't overclock anything.
The only log i've had is somekind of run down list thats to be set to microsoft after the computer reboots, and i only get that occasionally usually it just reboots with no errors.
Yea unfortuneately its my first pci-e graphics card so i've no spare to try, i will try safe mode when i get home from work through.

Looks like it might be a driver or codec problem, seems to be stable in safe mode.
Trying to find which one is going to be a nightmare though, half tempted to just format the system and put them on one by one, device by device until it buggers up again.

Yea actually im glad it is a driver or codec problem rather that hardware, im in the process of installing windows atm to try and eliminate the problem.

Img - Yup first thing i always do with a new build, would rather how the bsod then not know what the hell was happening, unfortuneately hasn't helped this time.
Nothing in the event viewer.

Wouldn't it be nice to just build a PC and it all worked so harmonously together it would almost be am afront to god :P

Thx for the help lads, working a treat now, really fast, must have been a video codec problem, i just downloaded drivers and stuff from the manufactures rather than the company that flogs them on.
Just downloading 3dmark to give it a good test, i'll post some pics on here when i've finished with it, the least i can do for all ya help.
DAMN sweet on me 32inch philips lcd :)
