I stupidly while cleaning pulled out my computers power plug and after that event my pc wouldn't boot windows. I tried reinstalling it but it kept crashing during the installation or after 100% it would say failed due to hardware problem.

Computer Spec at the time:
Asus M2N-Sli Deluxe
AMD64 duo 2.2ghz
7800GT Nvidia
2gig ram 733mhz
Maxtor 1tera, Westerern 500gig hards
Ocz 600watt psu

i tried to install windows 5 times and i tried xp and even ME and none worked. I then replaced the motherboard with a new Asus P5Q-Pro with a E8500 cpu.
I had some problems with booting and the installation STILL didn't work so i took out the maxtor hdd which was pritty new and never had a OS used on it before and i put it into another pc, installed vista on it without a problem successed to the windows desktop screen and it was fine. I took it out and put it back in the pc i was trying to fix but it was so laggy and no matter how many times i restarted the pc it would still be laggy and almost all the windows main components wouldn't work, like wmp, IE, sidebar ect ect. Nothing worked basicly. I thought mabye i installed the new cpu wrong or the fan wasn't in place but i double checked everything including temp and it was all fine.

Someone please help i have no idea anymore what it would be. I changed mobo/cpu, tried different hdds, installed OS on other pcs and still no change. Could it be the PSU? because im out of ideas. Could it be my version of vista causing these problems?

i tried installing another vista right now and i got blue screened. I'm going to try with 1 stick of ram now as you suggest and 1 hard 1 CD Rom see how it goes. Don't have a spare PSU though, have to wait till later today at best to get one.

I was also thinking its the PSU but how can the PSU cause these kinds of software/OS problems?
