I recently got my new PC a few months ago. But, a problem occured with it. When I tried to boot it up, occasionaly, it would not start properly (details in a bit). After flashing my BIOS to the latest version, and tweaking some BIOS settings, I thought I had fixed the problem. But now, it has come back again.
I boot up my PC from powered down, plug off, or hit "restart" in Windows 7. The PC will get to the Starting Windows screen. Sometimes, but not always, it will then proceed to not boot afterwards. The screen will go black and my monitor goes off for lack of input. When I then reboot the machine, it will either do it again, or it will come up with "Windows Failed to Start" and offers to System Restore back to a previous time. I have tried this, it didn't work.
One temporary fix I found was to unplug all USB devices when the system was powered down, and replug them in, then boot. This seemed to fix the problem temporarily. From this, I thought it might by a problem with USB drivers, so I went to reinstall them. Bad move. I downloaded the drivers from the internet. Uninstalled the USB drivers currently installed and rebooted to finish the uninstallation. The system continually crashed halfway through the Starting Windows screen with a flash of a BSoD. I had to System Restore back.
So, I've tried everything:
Reinstalled Windows on a new HDD.
Flashed to the latest BIOS/beta BIOS and tried others.
Looked through the BIOS settings.
Now I don't know what to do. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'll leave my PC specs below.
Intel i5 4430 @ 3.2ghz
Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP
NVIDIA GTX 560Ti (second hand)
Crucial 8GB RAM @1600mhz
WD 500GB HDD
It's just weird that this problem occurs randomly, I've gone almost a month now without it happening, and now it's back. It's so frustrating and it just annoys me so much.
Thanks for any help in advance.
