Problem with photoshop?

Whenever i start up photoshop (photoshop 8 cs1), it comes up with the white box in the middle, and they just stops responding.

Any idea what i could do to sort it out, reinstalled ect. ect.

Cant be bothered with a format atm

Hold down the Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys whilst launching Photoshop. This will allow the settings file to be deleted and recreated and it should load.

Yeah, I get the same thing once every month or two. It's annoying but has always been fixed by doing the above.

That didnt solve it

Your screenshot shows that it's stuck on 'scanning for plugins'. The fix above fixes it when it's stuck on 'initialising'.

Have you recently added any new plugins? You can try removing them. You might have one that's causes it to freeze.
