Problem with Pre-Overclocked i7 Kit, please help

I purchased the 'OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz @ 4.00GHz Max / Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58 Motherboard / Patriot Viper 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle' from here and have a couple of issues I would like some advice with.

The kit came with the ram already seated and the bios set up for a 4Ghz Overclock, the problem is though the PC will sometimes randomly shut down as in with a total power loss and the board quite often reports a boot failure, and can take a few goes to initiallise.

I'm hoping it's just one of the settings in the bios that will need tweaking. I really don't want to have to RMA the kit.

Please can anyone offer some advice on what to try to get the system stable.

IIRC the BIOS settings should be fine, I wouldn't touch them. It might be related to power, whats your PSU?

As I said above, the BIOS is unlikely to be the issue as it is the same settigns on all the chips and theres few issues there. Whats the PSU and other hardware? GFX card?

Unfortunately it's impossible to say what the problem is from your description. Every overclock is different and the best place to post a help request is in the customer service forum where the people who actually overclocked your system will help you out.

The GFX is a Nvidia Asus GTX 285

I would have said that should be fine unless your running other moster system parts. best to do as WJA96 says and try the customer service forum. The techies at OCUK will be able to asssit
