Hey guys. This is my very first post. I need some help here because i'm little confused. Just purchased my new PC. I own a Powercolor ATI Radeon 4870 1GB graphics card. Installed Far Cry 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. COD works fine (i think it uses only directX9 right?). When i tried to play Far Cry, in the graphics menu i choose directx10 instead of directx 9. As soon as the game starts, image freezes but i can listen through the speakers that i can move the character, fire my weapon etc. After 1 or 2 minutes of wait, i got a blue screen of death and the PC rebooted. That troubled me so i tried directx 9 option instead of directx 10. With directX9 I was able to play normally the game without freezing.

Also, i've tried 3d mark Vantage to perform a benchark 3 times. The first test was for graphics. It frozen after 17 seconds. Had to reset the machine. The second time i tried to benchmark, image frozen after 1 minute in the graphics test. Tried third time and the benchmark didn;t even start. Tried to uninstall and reinstall catalyst drivers, but no difference. Any idea what's wrong? I really need help here.

i have 2*2 GB corsair dominator 1066 MHz installed on my rig. When tested with a friends 4*1 GB XMS 2 800MHz everything runs like a charm. I am almost certain that the ram clock isnt the problem, but the 2*2 GB is. Does anyone know why this happens???????

PLEASE HELP!

IS your rg overclocked at all?

Or is your Ram running the correct voltage that it should be ran at?

Tried the latest gfx card drivers & bios on your system?

IS your system overclocked?

Download cpuz, this will tell you what voltage your ram runs at. The dominator may need more juice than your mates hence why it is unstable.

The only thing that is overclocked is slighlty the CPU. I use six engine progrm of ASUS. Instead of 3.16 i run at 3.22 Ghz. Ok i'll check voltages in the afternoon and post my answer to get some help

Personally I would try each stick in every slot. That way you can also rule out a dodgy slot.
