Just bought the Seagate Momentus Hybrid, just trying to install, but my system does not see the drive (win7). I was going to put it on as drive D drive copy or has someone as said clone the drive with the C drive and use it has the system drive. However, my system does not see the drive, even if I take out all drives except the C drive, any help would be appriciated.

I had this problem with another hdd, you have windows installed on another hard drive? I had to boot as usual then plug in the new one and format it. Then i restarted and booted into win 7 install and my hdd was there.

Does the BIOS see the HDD??

If youre using this in windows, have you run the FDisk to format and partition the drive?

Plus might be worth investing and getting a SDD for windows it's got better read speeds and then getting a 1TB or so Hdd for the games and bits and pieces, the hybrid drives are to random, and it'll only work out about £10-£20 more than the Hybrid drive

Not for 500 GB it won't I am on a pension every penny counts, I thought this was a good compromise, more speed for less. I hope.

you'll only really see the speed on things you'd use a lot as the hybrid has to learn, then stores that on the 4gb SSD thats built in, for around the same money you can get a 64gb SDD and a 1tb HDD, that way you get the speed and capacity.
