Problem with Shareware Program 'Doom 95'

I have had this thing for ages and it's a bundle that includes Doom, Doom II, TNT and Plutonia in one application that lets you play any level from any game on any difficulty and loads of other tweaks. Only thing is, since I've had my current OS (Vista 64bit) the damn thing doesn't work anymore.
I recently posted a problem concerning Total Annihilation that was solved simply by changing the compatibility to Win 98. However that doesn't work with this. Interestingly the problem it says it has when I try to run the 'Doom 95' application is:

Doom95.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because DPLAY.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

It is correct that there is no such file in the folder but the thing is I've downloaded it from several locations such as rapidshare and a few different torrents and they all don't have this file in the directory either but they seem to be playable for everyone else who gets them. The prompt is yet more confusing because there isn't a useable setup or installation file in the directory. On top of that I remember when it used to work on XP that I never had to install it at all.

If anyone could offer any advice I would be very appreciative.

Thanks for reading.

dplay.dll would be part of directx (specifically directplay) but i'm fairly sure its been removed from newer versions of DX.

The only two possibilities i can think of:
1) Dplay.dll will be somewhere in your windows folder (for backwards compatilblity) but in a location an old program isn't able to check, if so copy the file over to the games folder and it should pick it up.

2) Dplay.dll is gone from newer windows versions and won't be on your system, if so the only option is to try and find a copy of the file online and put it in the game folder, hopefully will allow the game to run.
