My Sky digital does not work anymore.

Every channel says "There is a problem with this channel..."

The signal test says there is no signal/ok.

Strangley, the programme guide appears to be working.

Any ideas?

the program guide downloads ands stores inside itself internally eventually if there is no signal the gyide will run out and be blank. if you have no channels at all then most likely prob is with *** dish. the lnb at the end of the arm is a very common failure.

it can happen in weatehr yes dont normally lasy to long. have you been outside and chcked its still there ?? dont laugh mine went once hen out and arm had fallen off lol

Yes, its still there.

BTW do you have to pay for sky to come and fix your dish if it stops working?

if its more than a year old and you havent paid for extended insurance then yes you have to pay. call out charge is heft. the lnb box that bits thats on end of arm and points at dish is a popular thing to break. when it does go i buyone mysmelf and put it on. its literally one wire. and saves £40-£50 call out

Yes about 60-80 notes last time i phoned them up.
Not that i payed them that, i told them to cancel my sub cos that costs more than the box is worth, they then said "i have to speak to my supervisor" then came back & said they'll fix it for free (engineer gave us a new box).
This also worked when i got fed up with paying 42 notes for all the channels.
I basicly told them to cancel my sub cos i see too many repeats.
They again went away & "spoke" to their supervisor, then told me i can have all the channels apart from sports & movies for free for 6 months, then 5.50 a month after that. :)
I will fully cancel one day because sky tv is RUBBISH.
Only like it now for skyone & discovery.

Try a full system reset. Find the system setup menu, then 01 enter gets the hidden system menu. "new installation" it'll reset all the channels etc, I've often had a digibox lock out like yours.

he he, i get it all the time.

the cause of mine is my dish moving, even in low wind, because a while ago my old dish fell apart so i got a new one from a well known online auction site, except i lost the locking nut that stops the dish from swinging, and i haven't bothered to get up there and fit one yet, so every couple of days i have to go outside and hit it with a brush until its in the right position again :D

lol, the effort i go to because i'm lazy......

yeah, ive never seen the attraction, just seems soooo overpriced to me. For the price of a months subscription I can buy the DVD box set of the only thing Id want to watch anyway (Lost!). Surely there is enough on freeview to keep most people happy, dont we spend all our time posting rubbish on forums anyway? Or just me ;)?!

do they even have red dwarf repeats ;)!?

When I rang Sky the call out minimum charge was £65.00 You can try a system reboot/forced upgrade by unplugging mains cable then press and hold BACKUP button whilst reconnecting power, continue to hold BACKUP button until you get lots of lights on the receiver front come on plus a warning message on the screen telling you what is going on and not to disconnect power or signal to the dish.

Good luck.

That'll reload the latest firmware. Doesn't reset the channel list.
