I have recently moved my computer from my home, to my new acomodation at university, from moving from my bedroom to the new place im staying, my computer has gone funny with sound, when i now plug my speakers in, only one will work and sound is very crackly/distorted. however when i plug the speakers into my phone both work fine and are clear. What could be the problem? also since the move, my some of my keyboard keys have stopped working could this be linked, i removed the dust from inside the tower before i moved and think this could be a reason for its faults but im not sure.

Is it a dedicated sound card?, try reseating it?. Often things come loose in transit. Try re-install sound drivers?, double check speaker connection from sound card to speakers. Do you have the mini plug in the right input?, sometimes they are coloured, green is usualy the front speaker connection. Not sure about your keyboard other than trying another usb terminal, if it is usb?.
thanks, i will try all of the above, as for the keyboard im not sure if that was just static as it fixed itself after a couple of days.. the sound still is the same, im going to take it out and relay it today etc and see if that works.
