Problem with stalker call of pripyat

Hi all, got a problem with this game, when i click new game it hangs a little and then gets to the load screen and takes forever to load up. I literally waited 15 mins for it to load and it never finished. So i went to task manager and it said it wasn't responding, so i ended the task then it came up "x-ray engine 1.5 is not responding". All drivers are up to date, tried compatibility mode, run as administrator, the works but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Have you tried checking integrity of the game cache. Just right click on the game in steam and click options then click verify integrity of game cache. i might have missed a step out there but it's within the right click of the game someowhere.

try that first then if you get no joy try re-downloading the game again

report back and lrt us know how ur getting on

Yeah already checked the integrity of the game cache, still no joy:mad:
 
Check you have not got 2 engines running in task manager - ive had this before, either restart or close one via task manager. (if its the same thing!)
 
I had this at the start of the game, turn every SOUND and GRAPHICS settings to the lowest there go. Start your campagin then turn them all back up.

If your soundcard supports EAX turn it off, this game doesn't like it.
If you have a realtek onboard soundcard, try downloading the standard realtek HD drivers from their site.
Make sure that neither steam or the game is running in any of the compatability modes you get if you right click under properties.
 
I had a problem starting up COP when i first installed in my current rig (win 7 64).

If it was the same issue i solved the issue by stopping steam connecting to the community in-game (there is a tick box in the options)

Tried all that and it still won't work! Looks like it just doesn't like my computer :(
