guess it'll be a 'theres nothing wrong with it guv' phonecall later :(

Open the passengers door, put his head on the sill and proceed to close and open door quickly.....

What a bunch-o-clowns, hope you get a we've fixed it sir answer this afternoon.

HURRAHHHHHHH!!

its fixed!!

apparently, the fuel injector pressure was wrong and they reset the computer that controlled it... if anything, its performing better ;)

Glad you got it sorted :)

I'd still put something in writing to Ford telling them about your experiences.

I work in a customer service environment and a lot of people just don't want to take things further because it involves some effort (i.e. sending a letter) and as a result problems go unreported. Whereas if you write in the manager of that branch will probably get a talking to.

I think part of the problem is that most of the guys in these places are simple spanner monkeys. I.e. they can fix problems that produce fault codes that they have a manual for, but when theres an issue that wouldn't cause a fault code and needs realtime monitoring they haven't a clue.

Thats the reason why people advise taking a faulty rover vvc unit back to rover, because most of the mechanics they employ don't understand the real time data from the vvc system, because if its out of whack it will just run wrong rather than produce a fault.

trust me, theres a large letter going to the head of the dealership and ford customer care...

That sounds like some of the past experiences I have had with Citroen dealers. I have to say, although they aren't the best I've not had such issues with my local Seat dealership. But then again my car has not done anything it isn't supposed to do, so all they have ever had to do is service it and adjust my wiper linkage once, oh and replace to lock on my gove compartment. Everything is rosey untill something goes wrong and you need them to actually pull their fingers out and sort a real problem out.
