Need some advice please...
I have a 42" rear projection samsung TV SP42Q2HD
I purchased it last May 06 on pay later jan 07, I actually complained a few weeks after I received it asking if I could return it as the picture quality was much much worse than my old 32" LG TV (4 years old) very pixeled and seem out of focus all the time. My girlfriend couldn't watch it at all as it was that bad but, all I got from the company was that it was non-returnable item blah blah.
More problems started around last October onwards (TV 5 mths old) the display would intermittently have a greenish look to it, the silver besel around the power button faded away despite very little use because of remote, the cover that surrounds the scart & other inputs completely fell off. Its really been one thing after another and I was less than impressed with its overall build quality as it was the most expensive TV I've purchased I can't see how a £800 TV can be so bad. I made various calls of complaint...
Now the company have finally agreed to send an engineer around to assess the TV just waiting for them to give a date. I really want them to take it back as I asked them originally after only having the TV for afew weeks then again after 5 months. I've been using another TV since November/December whilst trying to resolve it with the company, I've also withheld the payment due to all the problems.
Where do I stand with them saying its a 'non-returnable' item? It was brand new not a clearance item or graded etc, I've never had a problem like this before so unsure what rights I have.
Any advice appreciated
