I have created two iso images from the two cd's in my sim city 4 pack. I created iso's from the disc's contents and loaded them up with damon tools, and took the cds out.

I then ran the installation files which seemed to think that both cd's were present and setup was fine. However now whenever the game loads up it stops and asks me to insert the cd. Ugh, I dont' want to be fiddling around with tonnes of cd's all the sodding time. Can anybody help?

copy protection built into the game doesn't like daemon tools? (pure speculation on my part)? or have you changed the (virtual) disk back to disk one? some games require this?

what do you mean by the second part?

well some 2 disk games want to start the install from disk 1, then you change to disk 2 to finish the install. but then you need to insert disk 1 again to play the game. :)

Due to the copy protection you will need to have the original in the drive, despite using Daemon tools...

Personally I think its pathetic that companies require you to have the original disk to play... There are websites that allow you to patch your game, but i guess im not allower to tell you.

The honest consumer who paid a boatload gets loads of hassle, whilst those with pirated games who didnt pay a penny dont have to worry about scratched disks...

Its the same with the music industry...

I remember copying tapes from my m8's as a kid... No-one came round and sued me for it... It bugs me that the music industry counts all copied mp3's as lost revenue.... Beleive me, I might have copied my m8's tapes, but if I couldnt do that, I wouldnt have bought them... I didnt like them THAT much..
Same goes these days I feel... ANyway, im going completely off topic.

Yeah, I think we should write to our games companies and DEMAND a backup CD in case our ORIGINALS get scratched...
