Problem with Vista ultimate x64

Hello peeps!!!

i have a problem...

let me explain...

basically i have vista x64 on me PC and all of a sudden it wont me use x86 applications, including internet explorer and MSN, i can use 64 IE but if i try and use 32 then it crashes and says IE stopped responding, the same with MSN, and then i get a doctor watson has stopped responding... any ideas?

its annoying... and i cant find anywhere to log the problem with microsoft that doesnt cost £46.

i thought it was something i had done to the pc so i reinstalled vista, same problem after that!!!

I don't know much about 64 bit windows, but can you actually run 32-bit apps? And whats wrong with the 64-bit versions?
 
I had this problem with Vista Ultimate as well. Did you by any chance get any errors about malfunctioning LSP's?

I had this error and then no 32 bit apps would connect to the net and would crash. I managed to find a forum thread on another site that had some stuff there that solved the problem.

The specific bit that sorted it was this:

Also "netsh int ip reset" will reset all user configured settings for the tcp/ip stack. Pretty much the same thing as removing tcp/ip from the adapter and reinstalling.
