Problem with Windows Live 2011 (randomly showing me as online)

I downloaded Windows Live Messenger 2011 a couple of days ago but have been having problems. I like to be able to sign in and appear offline as I check my emails but at seemingly random intervals it somehow automatically shows me as online automatically.

Anyone else having this problem or know of a fix. I am considering rolling back to the previous version that actually worked properly.

What you going with now? I've tried a few, Trillian, Pidgin and Miranda and I just keep going back to older MSN. (version 14. something) It is horrible yes but I'm just used to it and it's compatible with my mates.

Had the same problem, horrible horrible version, rolled back...and the older version is now doing it too!

The randomly signing in thing is probably the web messenger on the hotmail page.

Trillian isn't bad tbh, although it's really hard to just mail someone if they're offline.
