Some help please.

I am having trouble starting Wings of Prey whilst my Black Widow Joystick is plugged into my pc. When I load the game it sadly crashes on startup. If i take out the usb it loads fine. Similar thing happens with Dirt2 but other games work ok.

I have unistalled my xbox 360 controller and its drivers just in case that might have caused conflict, but that hasn't helped. Note that the game starts fine with my xbox 360 controller plugged in.

Below is the error log I get. I have done quite a but of googling but nothing has shown up of relevance to my problem. I was thinking of downloading the HID.DLL of the net (dlldump.com) and replacing mine (in case mine was at fault or something) but not sure if that would cause more wide spread issue.

Anyone got any ideas on what the problem is/ how to fix it? Thanks.

If it doesn't crash with the joystick unplugged and Dirt2 is the same then you need to be looking at the stick and not the game.

I think your right, yet the stick works fine in Windows (when testing it through control panel --> Hardware etc) and it works fine for games like Altitude and even Star Trek Online. This is very frustrating. I have logged a support call with SpeedLink and chased them yet they have not responded.

I have also tried unistalling and re-installing their drivers off the website.

Uninstall the speedlink drivers and use the ones windows detects. The speedlink drivers caused IL2 1946 and Wings of Prey to crash for me on Windows 7 x64. It meant no rumble but at least it worked.

I would take no rumble if it means it would work! I will report back. Cheers.
