Problems installing my router and modem

I've got a D-link ethernet modem DSL-320T and a WPNT834 rangemax Netgear router. I wish to connect the modem to the router so that the router handles all traffic and the modem is used simply to initiate the connection with the ISP.

Am trying to get everything working but have not managed so far to accomplish anything.

Couple of questions:

I have connected the modem with the telephone line and it synchs as normal though for some reason only google works and I cant browse anywhere. Any idea why?

Which of the 2 devices should act as a dhcp server etc.

The router should be the DHCP.

Im not sure why only google works, its probably in your cache which suggests you havent actually set it up properly. Im not familiar with either piece of hardware.

All I could say is test the modem by using it just with the computer first.

So i disable the dhcp of the modem?

Just the modem works and I can get online. I just dont know what settings to choose to make it work through the router. In which of the 2 i put the log in details? any online guide?
