Problems other countries face?

Hmm, reading that chart it seems like the UK is quite possibly the best off. Only Luxembourg's minimum wage has a higher buying power than ours yet 11% of their population are on the minimum wage as opposed to 1.8% here.

-Social Measures. The governemt gives every family with low income £2000 for every kid they have. There is also help for under 26s to rent flats (up to £200 a month). Pensions are going up considerably as well.
lol, imagine that in the UK, id have a lot of kids by now.

Spain and France have problems with Basque separatists.

America has a problem with the leadership party.

France have problems connected with being cheese eating surrender monkeys, a similar problem to that experienced by the Italians.

Poland suffers from being next to Germany. Everyone else suffers from having German towels everywhere.

added to post of the year 2008 nominations :D

France - if you dont like something, STRIKE!
If you really dont like something - RIOT!

One of the problems experienced much more severely than in the UK is road safety. The UK is pretty good on that considering our roads are so overcrowded.

Australia:

  • Binge drinking
  • Aboriginal health, education and welfare (particularly the high rates of sexual abuse and alcohol addiction within Aboriginal communities)
  • Drugs (but no more than other Western nations)
  • House prices vastly outstripping wages
  • Inflation and high interest rates
  • Water shortages (we need a national water management system)

And of course, the contestant flood of English immigrants... ;)

France - massive problems with the creation of ghettoes and crime in the poor areas
Red tape for businesses, hampering entrepreneurship, growth and employment
