Problems playing large .TS files

I am having problems playing large .TS HD files. I am using PowerDVD v6.5 and have the latest gfx card drivers but playback is very jumpy. Playing .TS files of 100mb playback ok just stuff over 3 or 4gb.

PC Spec

P4 3.4Ghz
1Gb PC3200 Ram
Nvidia 7800 GS 256mb (Forceware 92 drivera)
Raptor 74Gb
Fresh install of XP SP2
Power DVD 6.5

I am trying to play HD content to feed into my new Hitachi 42PD9700 screen.

i wouldnt have thought the screen is a problem, maybe the smallness of your hdd, only 74gigz, how do you cope, update all drivers, mobo drivers etc

sometimes it helps if u just rename them to MPG or VOB.....powerdvd can be funny on some TS files

Try VideoLAN.

I manage fine with 74Gb as my main drive, I have a few other drives connected and have a total of 400ish gb but I stuck the file on my Raptor as its a speedy drive.

I have tried usinf VideoLAN, although it does play the file better it still lags a fair bit. This is onky the case for large joined TS files, TS files that are in chunks of 100mb playback fine.
