Problems Problems and Problems...

Right, still testing parts... my friend took the gfx card to try on his system and found that it was okay, nothing wrong with it.

I'm ordering my new case next week, getting the Antec 1200 and on thursday, hopefully I'll have all my parts back. We'll put everything back in and see what the outcome is.

I think it's down to 2 parts (CPU & Mem), unless we're missing something.
im not giving the gfx back mate, im in love :D

(that means the graphics card is fine, so that aint a problem)

on a side note, it surely cant be the ram/cpu as you've tested it with memtest fine :(

More news:

Spoke to the company I sent my motherboard back. I had to explain the faults I experienced and they were really good explaining possible problems and solutions.

Apparently the 780i have a problem with compatibility with most hardware, it varies time to time, but they have experienced loads of 780i returning with nothing wrong with them once tested.

They have gave me an option to have a refund or exchange for another product, and gave me 3 (P35, x38 & x48) possibilities to change with. He said, even though you can't SLI with this boards as they are crossfire, these are known to be the best performers at the minute.

Out of the 3, what do you recommend? The bloke said x38 & x48 are similar, but x48 are more up-to-date. P35 is another choice.

Suppose it'd depend on which boards they are, I have an Asus X38 board but it wasn't shipped with bios support for wolfdales so you'll have to try to be wary of problems like that.

If you don't have any luck fixing your old one, I'm sure I can teach it a good lesson.

I bet you would, unfortunately I'll be either getting a refund or exchange with another mb, so no old board.

I did originally planned to buy the x38 Asus board, but wanted to have SLI as an option so I switched to the 780i.

When I asked the company what they recommend, they did say x48 cos the chipset is suppose to perform better and I have noticed a few people saying the 790i is suppose to be good as well.

Now do I risk going back to trying boards with SLI after the experience I have had in the 2 weeks I had this computer parts or go with a board that is suppose to be really good but isn't able to go SLI.

Confused!

x48 choices...

Asus P5E Deluxe Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Asus Rampage Formula Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Isn't 790i mostly DDR3?
