Problems shutting down

Of late my PC just will not shutdown;

If I do it from windows (win-key > shut down > shut down) or setting power options in bios/windows for the power button on the tower to shut it down either just restarts it.

I've been having to wait for the moment after its shutdown and before its turning back on to hit the switch on the PSU :cool: which can't be good for it in the long run.

Any suggestions? Any settings I've missed?

Thanks. :)

Edit: I'm using XP :p

Have you installed any new software lately?

How does it behave in safe mode?

Have you run malwarebytes anti malware in safe mode?

Sounds like either new software problem or malware...

EDIT: Or a faulty power supply!!
