Hello chaps, have been having a recurring issue which has become worse since upgrading my graphics card to a 5770. The problem is that it takes multiple restarts to start the computer, with my old graphics card i would only have to press the restart button once and it would start so I ignored it, often it would start first time.
But after installing the 5770 it takes about 10 restarts to boot, I have checked all the power cables and can't find anything wrong.

My CPU was overclocked to 3.33ghz, I have reverted it back to 2.4ghz and core voltage is 1.46.

At one point i did get a 0x0000009 machine check error whilst loading into windows.

My spec
intel dual core 2.4 ghz
asus p5ne-sli
seasonic 600w
2gb corsair ram

Where do you think the problem lies?

Thanks.

Could maybe be a faulty PSU but there have been other cases of people upgrading to 5000 series cards and their systems taking ages to boot.

After doing some googling on this issue, many many people seem to have the same problem. I have managed to find a new BIOS update for my mobo which specifically addresses this issue, so hopefully i can try that when i get home and all will be well.

Bugger, I flashed my bios with the latest update which should have fixed this problem, I did so using asus update and there were no problems flashing, I rebooted and haven't been able to get my computer to start since. The screens don't even turn on, everything is powered up, just no picture.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Edit - after searching further lots of people with the same motherboard have exactly the same problems, and the bios update doesn't fix the problem in the slightest. It seems there is just a basic incompatibility between the ati 5xxx cards and my motherboard. Hmm, new motherboard time I think.
