thermaltake 850 watt

Four independent & dedicated +12V rails(12V1,12V2,12V3,12V4) provides superior
performance for PC system (combined loading of 62A).

shouldnt need more that that should it ?

ive ive already done that 4 times read the second comment it had windows 7 then i put xp on then windows 7 again then the latest windows 7 then put xp back on it still the same problem  when ever i do a bench loada game or it loads any sort of 3d app it starts flashin a slight yellow-blue tint on the picture and iam seeing no benifit in sli btw this only happens with sli ON..... if i disable sli it works fine

Only other thing could be your motherboard not handling SLI properly, only way to prove is put your parts in another board :(

ive just had 2 9800 gtxs before these working fine in there so it cant be my mobo and i havnt got another sutable machine

Sounds odd... unless the pencil mod is causing issues...

Other than that it is possible that you've run out of IRQ resources but I thought windows 7 handled that differently... or it could be a power problem - PSUs can still be working fine but at a hugely decreased power output sometimes.

EDIT: Are you using a recent BIOS version on that board and have fast CPU reads turned off? as there is a known video corruption bug with that motherboard that can cause similiar problems.

the pencil mod is only for the cpu voltage am i right ? and what is fast cpu reads i dont get this bios very well my 780i striker bios was brilliant shame it was a **** board lol and i dont know how to change the bios :( the psu could be gettin streched but a i7 rig with 285's in sli only pulls 600watts according to reviews any advice on how to change the bios and the cpu speed thing
i would be over the moon

edit: found the motherboard info and it reads

version 2.0
model C72M51XECRB
BIOS LTD 6.00 P

PCI-E BUS 2500MHZ
PCI BUS 33MHZ

bad news iam afraid updated the bios and my pc has gone proper pete tong i think it has corrupted both my harddrives as they will not boot tried to reformat windows 7 and it is nothing but errors so going to try xp then its of to bed as i got work at 7 any one who has been through this any help would be a huge bonus

update started installing xp formated the harddrive put the 1st lot of files on then it just keeps booting from the xp disk and if i force it to load from harddrive it says

DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

The hard drive. I have got around that that error by doing so. If that doesn't work, try chaging the SATA socket it is plugged into.

whilst it is on? i have just swaped them over (whilst it was off )but still booting from cd even when i force boot it from the harddrive :(

Did you reset the CMOS after teh BIOS flash?

Updating the BIOS can't directly corrupt the HDDs - its possible some BIOS settings changed for the HDD settings or the flash partly failed -

Not looking good then...

I would still try tinkering around a bit. I've got that message a few times before and always overcome it somehow or another. But it is quite possible that your BIOS update has caused a hardware malfunction. However, I'd say it's much more likely that your mobo has died, rather than both your hard drives.
