Problems with an online store

Refuse delivery of the item(s)

The courier will have to return them to the supplier at their risk without cost to you
:-)

If like me , you know the stores goods inward guy , make sure he knows what company will be sending the goods
and tell him to refuse to accept them

You said that you forgot about it on the confirmation screen so it wasn't entered as required:confused:

You don't enter anything on a confirmation screen. You enter the code on the order screen, I forgot to check it was on the confirmation screen, I was more interested in getting the right bits and right delivery. Something as easy as using their codes on their site isn't really something I'd expect to have to check. If I'd thought I would have checked, but that doesn't excuse their failure.

If I really wanted the goods, for the sake of £4.50 I would just lump it and not use them again.

I think that's what they want me to do. It's a matter of principle, not the money.

Whilst I do agree with your actions in principle, to me this is a matter of money:

* They want you to give in and write off the relatively small cost involved.
* You want to cancel your order and for them to lose your business for failing to satisfy your request for customer service
* You are going to incur a cost of your time and money getting them to either admit and/or 'man up' to the mistake.

Are you still on hold btw?

Why don't people read the thread before making idiotic comments... There wasn't a phone number, only email.

Just as Mr-White said, just refuse receipt of the goods.

I was actually the 2nd person to reply to this thread, but didnt click submit properly (im at work so I navigated away from the window)

get off your high horse.

refusing the goods will just complicate things from Gillys end, his credit card will still be charged and the company wouldnt take any responsibility

So if I'm understanding the situation correctly; you have made a mistake on my order, have been unable to correct it, have shipped an order that you charged incorrectly for after I asked you to cancel it, and are now putting the onus on me to return the goods to you?

I find it hard to believe that you cannot amend orders on your own systems on which you have made a mistake. I find it equally hard to believe you are unable to cancel orders and resubmit them immediately with the correct pricing information without affecting the actual order.

Please refund the money to me, I will refuse the delivery of the parcel and it will be returned to you by whichever means you sent it to me.

This has now become a point of principle for me, had the original order been amended before shipment there would have been no problem. Had the order been cancelled when requested I would have merely resubmitted it. That you have made the mistakes and want to retain my money beggars belief.

Eagerly awaiting a response.

Is it really worth the hassle for the sake of £4.50. You must have originally wanted the items as you ordered them. Personally I'd suck it up and just never order from that company again.

Whilst I do agree - It's a matter of principles and Gilly has stuck to his guns. Good on him.

Keep us updated.

Similar thing happened to me. I wouldn't shop with them again, although I do still use the forums ;P (j/k).

It's a matter of principle, hell yes it's worth the hassle.

Fair play to the OP. I'd pursue the same course of action, don't let them get away with it.

Ant

Something about 'Kind Regards' just sends me up the wall when your trying to complain and they reply with that at the end....arrgh!:p

Typical that they will now 'hold' your money while YOU have to sort it out.

I wouldn't bother wasting your time with any more emails, you'd be better banging your head against your desk!
