Hey guys I'm having problems with my belkin N wireless. The issue I'm having is with my xbox 360 250G, I keep getting random disconnects from xbox live pretty much eveyday. For example I'll get random DCs whilst playing black ops best example was when I was trying to watch a movie on zune and it disconnected 4 times. I have 2Omeg virgin media, I have 2xXbox 3xMobiles iPad and a pc running of the network. Pc isn't on much these days. Any help at all would be great guys I'm pulling my hair out. Thanks

It's probably port forwarding issues caused by having two Xboxes. If you haven't set up port forwarding statically then The Xbox probably uses uPnP to open up the ports it wants. In which case having two fighting over the same port set will cause the described symptoms.

There isn't really one. You can't port forward the same port to two different internal IP addresses. You'd need to buy a much better router and a second public IP address.

It's maybe possible to use some off-site proxy for one of them, which would alter the incoming port number that hit your router, which could then be forwarded. But tbh it's a very long shot and a pig to configure and wholely not worth the effort.

Just statically forward the ports to one Xbox's IP address (make sure it's static) and don't use Xbox live on the other one.

That's a nice router. Same as I have. However i'm not sure it'll handle multiple NAT pools. It might possibly do it using TomatoFirmware. But it's not quite that simple. You'd need to get your ISP to provide multiple IPs. Which will cost extra and might not be available on your current service level.
I must confess I've only ever configured this on a cisco 877M and hefty enterprise grade firewalls so I don't know how easy it's going to be on consumer grade stuff.

Sounds like a lot of effort to get two xboxs running smoothly and expensive. I do appreciate all of your advice skid, but would you in my shoes get a new router and pay for the extra ip address ? not being sure that it would work ?

I'm using a Vigor 2820N in conjunction with extra public IP address' on Zen with 2 Xboxes running on LIVE with no problems.

So said solution does work. You're certainly looking at a router that is much better than the entry level ones to make this work though.

I'm 100% sure it'll work. It's just as case of how easy it is to do and whether that router supports it. To me it's simple enough but I do this for a living on slightly larger budgets :)
First step before buying anything would be to call your ISP and ask about multiple IP addresses, and how much it's going to cost. I'd also suggest talking to a 2nd /3rd line support tech about this as 1st line barely know what an IP address is and won't be of must use here.

Thanks skid, I'll give them a call first before I take any action.
