Problems with Dlink Wirelss kit (DSL 904)

i have a dlink wirless kit (DSL 904) - DSL-G604T (modem) DWL-G122 Rev b1(usb dongle) i have updated the drivers and tried shifting the dongle and i stil get dips in connection to the point i continually get disconnect all the time. have the latest drivers in which is version 2.00 and they where released last year. Singal strength goes between 0 to 36mbps and sometimes sits at 54mbps but then breaks and the internet seems slow and failes, considering its 8MB braodband with BT that am sharing from Roughneck.

Any one got any ideas of what i could do?
Does any one know what chipset the usb dongel is?
Would changing to a dlink compatable pci card make a difference and what ones are compatable?

and has any one else experinced any problems with this wireless kit.

any help would be greatfull

Well the best fix overall is probably to get a pci adapter, or an external access point.

Sorry I cant be of more help OP, but I experience exactly the same with the same Dlink wireless setup as you do.

will go and buy a wirless adapter and see if that makes a difference.

Just bought a D Link 108mbps MIMO Wireless PCI Desktop Card - DWL 520M. Was a b*tch to setup but think i have a reasonable signal strengh and havent yet expereinced a drop of connection all together.
