Problems with Firefox

I installed FF3 yesterday and I'm having a couple of problems with it, not sure what to do. Firstly, whenever I open FF a window appears with the FF icon and a folder icon (this first appeared when I downloaded and installed FF but it keeps popping up every time I open FF) then the browser window appears on top of it. How do I stop this little window popping up? Sorry if that's a bit of a silly question, I'm new to Mac OS.

Secondly, FF's dictionary is stuck on American English does anyone know how/if I can change it to British English?

You haven't actually installed firefox, that's what the window's for. Drag the icon from the window to your applications folder then drag the icon from applications folder to your dock.

To get the British version download it from http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-3.0.7&os=osx&lang=en-GB

Didn't realise I hadn't actually installed it as I was still able to run the application.

Just installed the British English Dictionary but FF's still using American English. I think the current version only supports FF2, not 3.

Just a quick Q, why cant I seem to install the windows media player plugin in FF3.

I don't think WMP works with Macs, might have something to do with it.

Just found out that it used to be supported in FF3 on osx but now its flip4mac that does it. Cheers for the replied guys.
