Problems with Full Spectrum Warrior

I'm guessing there will be, anyway. I picked it up in the THQ collector's pack, and just installed it and Ten Hammers. The expansioin runs fine - no problem. The original is loading slow, jerky and unwatchable - these are the company logos at the beginning. The game menu is just as bad, the response is terrible, and woe betide I if I dare start a game. Looked like a freeze, but it could be taking the time to get over its shock at my affront. Verified the downloaded content, and set all the graphics options to the lowest. Like I said, the sequal is fine, so what the hell is going on?

sure my bro-in-law had similar problems when he tried it on a dual core CPU, had to set infinity to one i think

Ok, good point. How do I go about setting infinity to one?

You need to turn off your access to the internet. It is ad supported I believe and causes problems. It won't run initially with it off so run the game then disable your internet access. Runs a treat for me then.

Thanks Syphon, that worked a treat. Look at that - a Steam game you can't play when Steam's online. My internet access gave me no problems, it was just Steam - boot that in offline mode, and the game ran fine.
