problems with grahpics card

Will have to get back to you on the make and model of the psu, it is quite old so maybe that's the problem, and thanks space monkey I will try the ram in different slots tomorrow see if that makes a difference. I hope that's not the case though! :(

To be fair, OCUK sorted the replacement RAM very quickly so I wasn't waiting too long, I'd be interested to know how you get on with this :)

Yeah I don't doubt ocuk aftersale, I just hope this isent the problem, want it up and running asap.. Itching to get it going lol. The only problem is i am back at work tomorow so dont get much time =( I will keep you posted on how I get on! Thanks again for your help and suggestions much appreciated.

Scott.

If the fan is going on the gpu then i imagine it is connected ok. Have you been fiddling in the bios at all? I buggered some settings once made my screen go black, i just resetted the cmos. If its been black screen from the start then have you tried the Gpu in another pci slot (if you have one).

All the fans are working on everything. The power is reaching every component! this is what I can't get my head around? I haven't messed about with anything like that, the bundle was overclocked by OCUK and it cake as "plug and play" like I said everything seems to be working bar the monitor turning on which makes me think it's the gcard?

Oh mate, after reading you last post I had this exact same thing the other day.

I got a new PSU (second hand) for my brothers PC to go along with his new GFX card, but when I turned it on the PC just put all its fans on and the HDD lights weren't working properly and the PC just wasnt acting like normal, it wasnt just that there was no output to the screen but the fans weren't spinning like normal and all near full, it was like the PC was kind of responding but wasnt..... very weird. Took ages to work out what it was because it was very strange but I took the PSU out and put it in my other system and it did exactly the same thing.

Have you tried a different PSU or tried your PSU in a different PC?
This sounds exactly like what happened to me so if you havent I suggest you do that

Psu= power supply or processor lol?, bit of a tech noob. I am going to try a mate graphics card in it tonight to see if that is the cause of my problems, then if his dosent work in mine at least then I will know it's not that eh? or I hope it's not that :/

So the problem could be that my psu cannot handle all the power from the new motherboard, processor and ram? And this maybe why my monitor isent receiving anything?

it could be... but before you go splashing money on stuff, check your connections, you'll kick yourswlf if it was something that simple.

I am currently helping my brother out and we are having the same problems. I have even took out all of my spec except my motherboard and still nothing. I have tried everything!!!
I thought it could be his RAM But I plugged mine in and nothing. I will explain what we have done.

We have tried 3 different graphics cards (including mine) - Nothing
We have tried each stick of RAM, then tried mine - Nothing
He has a 900w PSU, Mine 650W tried both - Nothing
Tried resetting COMOS - Nothing
Changed VGA cable DVI Adapter - Nothing
Tried my monitor with my VGA - Nothing

We still cannot get it to work and like you said everything is connected up properly and power going to everything he has for his build.

He has done exactly what you have done. Bought a bundle pack and nothing has responded. If you find out what has happened update me :)

We are getting a friend to look at it so if we find out the problem I will give you an update. He should know what he is doing hes a games designer for EA Sports

Quite possible, yeah, did you find the make and model of the PSU?

The make of my psu is; Power X3 STANDARD Edition Power Supply.
The model is; ATX 450204 (26 30 17 0.8 0.3 1.50) 450w 8A 4A

Now I know I said I had a 500w PSU obviously I was wrong!! Sorry for any miss information!!

Anymore ideas are more than welcome =)

Oh and clartymarty any ideas of how u eventually get your set up working will be greatly appreciated! I will let you know of any progress I have with mine.
