Problems with laptop audio

I have just bought a new HP NX6310. I completed a clean reinstall of Win XPP and as a result, had to download all the drivers from the HP website, as no CD was provided with the laptop.

To get the audio going, I believe I had to install Realtek's HD Audio driver and then the audio driver from HP's website.

I have done all of the above and still get an error message saying i need to install a HDA Audio bus driver.

I have no idea what to do and I'm pulling my hair out.

Does anyone know what I have to do to get this sorted?

Thanks

Phil

Have you allowed device manager to search windows update for the driver? Do this, or alternatively keep doing windows updates & rebooting until there are none outstanding - I'm sure there was an update for HD Audio Bus drivers.

EDIT: yes, at least one: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111

I did backup the drivers folder before i reinstalled windows.

The device manager shows two unknown devices, one is a HP Integrated Module and the other is an unknown device.

L33, thanks for the link, but that site doesnt allow me to download the driver.
