Bit of a wierd one this.

Recieved some 4gb ram so installed it into my system along side the same made and model of 2gb ram (corsair) went to boot up and wont post.

Then I take the ram out to check if the bios setting are correct, however now it wont boot with the original memory in.

Boots up fine with 1 stick of ram in, checked every slot with every memory and psosts fine, but when trying to boot in dual channel, or with more than 1 stick in it just wont post.

Motherboard is Gigabyte DS3.

Any suggestions to what it could be?

You could try adjusting the BIOS settings, set your RAM freq to lower than it should be and see if it will post when you add the other sticks, if it does you can then re-raise the freq. You can also try manually setting the DRAM voltage to what it should be, dont use auto.
If not pls post more details about your system specifically RAM, speeds etc

Right, well managed to get the computer to boot with just the 4gb, but in single channel and not dual. Also it will only boot in 1 set of slots, the others just wont boot.

My old set of sticks wont boot in dual anymore??!!

I tried to change some of the memory sections with my overclock however just blue screened on me with a physical memory dump.

Spec:

Gigabyte DS3
6300 now at stock, was running 3ghz.
The Ram iis http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-136-CS

I have noticed that the 2gb stocks run at 5-5-5-15 where the 4gb is 5-5-5-18.

Currently got the bios running on auto.

Hmmm, can ram slots just die for no reason?

The right red & yellow slots dont seem to work, well the pc wont boot when any ram is in these slots. I have the 4gb running in the left slots running single channel.

Surely they cant just die can they?!

Well got it running at 4gb dual channel.

Its almost as if there is a loose connection or something as I wiggled the ram a bit and would post up.

Would have liked to have 6gb, but i think for the sake of it working and the difference I would see its not worth it!

Almost chucked PC out the window!!!!
