Hey guys, so I went and bought a new keyboard the other day and they came with the MX Cherry Red key switches, I was told prior to my buying experience that they were;

"The best key switches for gaming and they're okay for typing too."

So I was like alright, I'll go with reds as my last keyboard was blues, i've had it for about 5 days now, came on Monday and it's now Friday, so about 5 days and I just can't get used to it what so ever.

The red switches don't feel proper mechanical compared to the blues in my Black widow elite. I did a few typing speed tests and on this keyboard I average out at about 80-85wpm with a lot of mistakes and on my black widow around 95-110wpm with few mistakes, I don't know what it is, I was tempted to send it back, but because the keyboard came over international waters, it took a fair while to get here, so I wouldn't want to wait 2-3 weeks just to get a replacement.

Anyone else been in a similar situation with key switching?

everybody finds different keyboards to feel differently, and if you are used to one particular style of mechanical key, changing to another can be difficult

Send it back if you don't like it. See if there's a blue switch variant if you enjoy that more, maybe even brown (kinda in between red and blue).

I bought it off some company on Ebay so hopefully, she'll still accept a return, I'll get browns intead, I had a friend around before, he's got the same keyboard, but he has the brown version, and he said his feels nothing like this and his feels better etc, etc. So I think I'll do that.
