Hi I just received my Nvidia GTX 760 today from Overclockers.co.uk

I removed my GTX 560 ti, and put in my new card (without uninstalling an drivers) then turned my pc on, once on, Windows installed its drivers and then i installed the latest drivers for this card.

Ever since then the pc goes black screen and i have to go in, in safe mode, so i go in in safe mode, uninstall everything for my graphic card and from device manager to try and get the pc to detect it again, it works fine with the windows default drivers, but as soon as i try to install anything Nvidia, the PC won't get past the 'Windows logo' screen, it just turns my monitor off.

My PC has been no problem up until this point.

I also installed the GTX 560 ti in the past with no bother :S

Please help!

My PC is....

intel core i5-2310 @2.90ghz
Medionpc MS-7728 motherboard
8gb of samsung pc3-10600u ddr3

ok do i boot in safe mode then run this? because it is telling me it is not recommended to do this in normal mode

I forgot to tell you to unistall the drivers as normal first, then restart and then run this, sorry. my mind is in 3 places right now :o

What the windows drivers for the card and the Nvidia ones? or just the nvidia ones?

Am i getting this right.....

Uninstall nvidia driver>reboot>start in safe mode>run this program?

Driver for the card, they should be Nvidia. ^^^^

I will start again

1, unstall your card as normal through the Windows unistaller

2, reboot

3, run this as Admin.

4, Click ok on the warning

5, click yes to reboot into safe mode

6, click on clean and restart once in safe mode

7, once back into normal windows install the new drivers.

Sorry if i left you confused. :)

Ok windows is installing 'Video controller' and 'Audio device on High Definition Audio bus'

Shall i leave it to do this first, then install the Nvidia drivers yeh?

I see whats going on, Windows is trying to install a generic driver. you don't want that. don't if you have a choice. install the driver from Nvidia

Its even crashing when trying to load into safe mode and the only way to fix it (to let me in safe mode) is to run CHKDisk from start up repair (only when Nvidia Drivers are installed)

Just to clarify I have not had a single problem up until i inserted this graphics card and installed Nvidia drivers, it works when they are not installed for some reason.

Understood ^^^^

Ok, sorry to read that mate :( i have no more advice for you, other than phoning OcUK and asking them for advice, direct them to this thread if you like to show that you have tried to sort it. it may need to be RMA'd

Sorry if I'm not completely following this, but are you installing the Nvidia drivers from the official website or are you trying to install them through device manager in Windows? You'll want to install them straight from Nvidia's website, that's the best way.
