I posted this in the customer support forum but had no reply.

Hi,

I had a new computer delivered yesterday, this PC is for my girlfriends parents after I recommended Overclockers to them.

Having switched on the machine for the first time this evening it comes up with a window called Sysrep, I have never heard of this before, it appears after every reboot. I Google'd and people said to run it, I tried to run it but it had a fatal error, again I Google'd and people said to try ending a process relating to Media player. After a couple more reboots the machine got stuck before windows with the message "Setup is starting services"

If I install W7 again using the supplied disc should it be ok?

Thanks

if you have ordered a system i would expect it to work from the off, who knows wot else could be wrong if anything. either wait on customer support or ring them in the morning and explain. Im not sure how far the OCUK warrenty goes with pre built and then making changes

SYSPREP is a standard Microsoft way of copying an image of a system. It allows the setting of the variable aspects of an system build for each copy made. We use it all the time for building systems in data centres.

Sounds like its in Sysprep audit mode. If you get error when choosing to reseal it could be that the generalise option has been used too much.

It will be a full reinstall and update which could take a fair while. Or you could get them to collect and sort.

I popped into Overclockers today and spoke to TwsT, he said I'm ok to reinstall windows so I've just done it, nearly got it all ready now.

Thanks for the replies.
