Problems with new build

Hey just finished a new build and reday for the first boot.. but... no good, the fans all start and all the lights come on but the monitor displays nothing and the mobo speaker doesnt beep, any ideas?

4 or 8 pin for cpu power connected and both power for the gpu, try a CMOS reset or insert only 1 stick of ram and see how you go.

8 pin in, CMOS reset, will start with only 1 rAM.....

done that, tryed all 3, no luck, still no post or display

Do the fans spin? Or does appsolutely nothing happen when you press the button?

everything works, fans spin, cd-drive whirs, HDD spins, but no beep from mobo and no display on monitor

also now tryed 4-pin rather than 8-pin power for mobo but to no avail....

I had a old CPU i just put that in to update BIOS.

ill try the gpu from my rig.. if that works does that mean thos ones a dud?

put the new gpu in your rig and see if it works there. supply details of the gpu and the psu and someone might figure out if there is a power supply issue?

My two cents worth, the last time i saw somthing like this was faulty Mobo. Best thing is to call ASUS Helpdesk, they will soon advise i am sure. If it turns out to be faulty then they are already on the phone and can process you an RMA relativey quickly.

They could have some ways of finding the problem quickly, save you time and effort

Pretty sure this isn't an RMA...

I had the same problem when I built mine, i reseated the GPU and turned it on and then plugged in the monitor and it detected it. Also have a check at all your components and the cmos is important as well, make sure you are using the jumper correctly.

Remove everything from the mobo, including the CPU, fans, VGA etc, and only connect the power cables and the front panel headers for the power switch. Then try turning it on.

It aught to beep to tell you to insert a CPU. If not, it's either the mobo [not installed correctly? standoffs all in place? etc. you know, usual suspects] or the power supply.

If it does beep, then plug in teh CPU. If it still beeps after tat, keep adding components till it stops beeping. When it stops beeping and returns to the current form, that's probably the faulty part.

I have occaisionally had this response from my system turned out to be the power supply connection to the mobo not making good contact at one end. Reseated it making sure firmly in place at both ends and it booted fine. However, couple of months later had the same problem the solution was the same. Assume that the plug worked loose with expansion and contraction.

right. no gpu, hdd, cd-drive etc, just psu and mobo.... no beep...

its the asus p6t se powered by the ocz modular 700w, just to chech, does the mobo come with a speaker
?
