Problems with new SLi 8800 GTX

Is it just 3DMarks thats crashing, or are all your other games fubared as well.

I have installed Steam - CS, CSS, HL2
Call of Duty 2
Far Cry

Apart from the ghost like effects in CSS everything else seems fine

hm, either,

a)psu is naff - try another, doubt it though
b)drivers - uninstall all drivers, use drivercleaner, reinstall latest drivers
c)windows - if all else fails reinstall windows

you are at stock, arnt you?
however i really cant see why it is crashing at 3dmark start-up. :/

This PC is brand new it got delivered on Friday. So I will have to give them a call on Monday I suppose to find out why the CPU is underclocked.

Something definitely isn't right there. Is it possible to have an E6300 labeled as an E6700? Because that looks suspiciously like an E6300. I know the cache is 4MB and it says Conroe but isn't the E6300 actually a Conroe? Maybe half the cache got undisabled somehow?

Don't know what to make of what I just said let alone this thread.. :(

In short, something isn't right.

Lmao, that simple. The annoying thing is that I knew that. :(

hmm My m8 just noticed that the multiplier is set to x7 is this supposed to be set to 10?? because 10 x 2.66 gives me the 2.66 that it should be running at

increase the multiplier then, but i thought if ** bios settings is at default, it would actually be 10 multi. someone obviously dropped the multi to 7

I found the problem with 3dmark06 it appears that the sound card is causing the crashes.

I got an X-Fi Extreme Audio and everything is fine when i disable the device in device manager.

Speedstep drops the multi from 10 to 7 when the cpu is idle. Just disable the speedstep options in the BIOS, and it will always run at full speed.
