I recently bought the OCZ Agility 3 a couple of days ago, installed it into my PC and was extremely disappointed. The speed i expected was just not there, boot up time was the same as my HDD.

I ran a benchmark and was only getting about 150MB/s Read and 70MB/s Write.
Far from the 525MB/s and 475MB i was expecting.
After some forum reading i found a post saying to make sure its in AHCI mode as opposed to IDE.
In storage config in my bios (ASUS P7P55D-E Mobo) i have the following settings;

Storage Configuration

Configure SATA as [AHCI]

Hard Disk Write Protect [Disabled]
IDE Detect Time Out (Sec) [35]

In AHCI Settings it lists from SATA port 1 to 6, my SSD is plugged into a SATA 6Gb/s port and this isnt displayed anywhere in my BIOS

When i go to Boot >> Boot Device Priority - My 1st boot drive is [IDE: S0 OCZ-AGILITY] Why is it IDE when i changed settings to AHCI for SATA devices?

Im Really confused here and slightly annoyed due to the fact i have had to wipe my drives several times to try and fix this problem and get the speeds i paid for.

Any and all help is really appreciated.

I'm using 'AS SSD' to test it. Not only that but my boot up time is about the same as a HDD at about 23 seconds+

You should use ATTO, unless there's a problem you'll probably see the kind of numbers you were expecting. The boot up time is too slow but you need to ignore whatever delay is introduced by your BIOS, the point where it accesses your HDD to load your OS is where you should time it. It goes without saying you should have done a clean install before testing too.

Is it possible to have a reply from someone who works with overclockers?
I would like to know what my options are.

Use the contact stuff on the main website, you won't get any support from their staff in this general forum.

Do you have SLi or Crossfire?

The controllers used for handling SATA3 on the P55 arent upto scratch. P55 has no native SATA3 support, that is dealt with by a Marvel controller in most instances I believe.

This takes up bandwidth on the lanes so could be slower if you have multi GPU's.

Im no expert though, im just making educated guesses.

Hope you sort it mate

Thanks Deathstorm, ATTO gave me a glimmer of hope upping my Read and write speeds to 250 and 230 respectivly. Still not happy though. Im completely out of ideas here, is there anything else i can do? Should i take it to somwhere like PC world? or does anyone know any good specialists i can take it to?

Don't bother with PC World unless you like wasting money.

In your position I would try a clean install of Windows first, quick format in Windows 7 setup, run the windows experience performance wotsit and then ATTO and see how you do.

You can of course return it if you think it's faulty, I'm not sure that's the case here however.
