Hi i have a belking wireless pci card in my card, which connects to my sky wireless router. I would get a constant strong signal for about 30 mins, after which i would lose the signal completely. The pc wont even detect the router until i restart my pc.

This is a very new build that i made yesterday. I have a laptop which has no problem maintaining its connection with the sky router.

I really need help.

Make sure you have the latest drivers.

Some devices like these have the option in the properties which allows the computer to turn these items off to save power, but I doubt that would be the problem.

i had a very similar problem to what you are describing recently, working fine and then disconecting after half an hour or so for no apparent reason, and needing to restart the pc to get it to connect.

this was also with a new build (the bottom one in my sig) and also with a pci card. i tried everything i could think of, uninstalling and re-installing drivers, tried new drivers old drivers ect. i also tried moving the card to a different pci slot and tried going through all the channels on my router and still no joy.

in the end i admitted defeat and removed the pci card and installed a usb wireless reciever instead and its worked perfectly since so i have no idea what was causing it to happen, i just assumed the pci card had become faulty although it had been working perfectly in another pc previously

try belkinco.uk AND belkin.com for latest drivers adn connection software first.

Changing from makers connection software to windows own configuration utility or the other way round is worth trying after that

If the card is a Belkin F5D7000 I have just replaced mine due to it being shocking with Vista 64.

Swapped to a Netgear one and my packet loss issues have gone, and turning UPnP off has help get some semi normal ping times.

I think vista still has some major issues with WIFI.
