Problems!

Hi, i bought a overclocked bundle from Overclockers last October. The motherboard is a Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 with Kingston HyperX Genesis 8gb, I5 2500K and a corsair A50. All up until last monday the pc would boot correctly without any problems and load the overlclock of 4.4GHZ. Unfortunately now the pc will only boot with the default settings set on everything and when i try to load the OCUK overclocked profile i get 3 blue screens saying windows has shut down to protect your pc and then it will switch off automatically and then come back on. Then i will be greeted with a black screen saying the pc has failed to boot because of overclocking. After all this it will boot successfully up to 4.4ghz but the ram will stay at 1333 instead of 1600mhz. Also everytime i shut the pc down and turn it back on all the settings will be back at default again.
Has anyone any ideas as to what i can do to fix this? Also i fitted an antec kuhler 920 on Monday and this is when the problems started.
Sorry for the long post.
Thanks in advance.

you need to post your PC spec it could be anything from PSU not being powerful enough to CMOS battery needs replacing.

Could also be you disturbed something when you fitted the Antec.

Thanks for the reply, here is the spec:
Motherboard- Gigabyte Z68AP-D3
CPU - i52500K Pre-overclcoked to 4.4GHZ by OCUK
Ram - Kingston HyperX Genesis
Cooler - Antec Kuhler 920
GPU - EVGA GTX550TI
PSU - Antec Truepower 750W
Case - Corsair 550D
SSD - Crucial M4 128GB
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB
O/S windows home premium 64bit
I have tried resetting the CMOS but it doesn't seem to make anything better. Do you think there is something wrong with the RAM?
Thanks

You could try upping the CPU vcore or the memory voltage up a notch to see if it becomes stable again, otherwise, it should still be under the 12 month warranty.

I note there is still a bundle for sale with that motherboard and CPU, but the OC is only 4GHz and only 4G or ram.

If the problem started after fitting the Antec 920, I would try the old cooler.

Good idea. If all is good with old cooler you know it has something to do with new cooler... Like maybe the mounting plate is grounding to case. Been there got that t-shirt. ;)

I have took the Antec kuhler 920 off the pc and put my original Corsair A50 CPU cooler on and my overclock is working fine. I now have no problem with it loading but i want to be able to use the antec kuhler 920. Whydo you think the overclock wont load when the antec is installed? Any ideas?
Thanks!

Yeah it's got to be some kind of issue with the mounting plate of the Kuhler touching something on the motherboard that it shouldn't...

Maybe install it again, but double check each stage and make sure you can't see any bare metal parts resting on the motherboard or such.

It's the first thing I check if there are any problems after changing heat sink. Either touching motherboard or case. Sometimes I will make an insulator gasket using construction paper between mounting bracket and motherboard and same cut as washers on top of motherboard. Not hard to do and if it works you know for sure where the problem is. In a couple of build the gaskets are still there. :D

Well, i have re-installed the antec kuhler and have had no problems with loading the overclock so its all working how it should now. Still dont know what the problem was, i just hope i dont meet it again! Thanks for the suggestions :D
