Probs after installing ABit IX38 Quad GT

Hi there,

I have just finished building a shiny new PC and have a bit of a problem.

The UGuru chip is getting flagged up as causing some problem for the UGuru software.

Vista advises getting a driver for the UGuru chip, but ABit doesn't list such a thing!

UGuru runs fine and allows modest overclocking, but when you close UGuru, the program hangs, then crashes.

Any ideas where I could get a copy of the driver? It isn't on the install CD, or the ABit website!

Many thanks

Andy

theres a folder called vista driver in the uguru folder after you unzip it try that works fine for me we have different boards but id imagine it uses same file unless your problem is mobo specific?

from what I've read you probably want to flash to the 12 beta BIOS from the original shipping.
You should be using uGuru 3.106.
There is also a conflict between uGuru & the latest (1.41 & 1.42) versions of CPU-Z which can cause crashes.

As far as overclocking with uGuru is concerned my recommendation is to set up the user presets as you want & not use the factory presets as :
1) you'll be able to set a far higher overclock (iirc Turbo is only 16-17%)
2) more importantly you can tailor the voltages to what your exact hardware requires & not some generic factory settings that often aren't right for your hardware.
