Probs after update on MW2

Hi All,

Loaded up steam to play MW2 Multiplayer and before I launched the game it seemed that Steam update both the SP and MP, saying something about downloading/restarting etc. Then when I started playing MP I noticed that when running+strafing together the edges of object such as building etc shudder round rather than move round smoothly.

Before today (and the update possibly) the game has always run flawlessly with no problems.

GFX card as per the sig on latest nvidia drivers, I run with vsync on and I ran FRAPS whilst recreating the problem and the FPS stays flat out at 60 as it should.

Bit of a shame really coz this game has always run so nicely on my rig but I think that unless someone else has any ideas I may try reinstalling the game and turning off auto updates see if makes a difference.

Any thoughts/Ideas

Thanks in advance.

Krib

I noticed a couple of walls shuddering earlier when I played after the update but didn't notice it extensively...

Drivers, etc. won't help as its a rounding/floating point precision bug and would have to be fixed in the game unless its a different problem to what I think it is.

Thanks for your answer.

Its not persistent as it were, but once I had noticed it I kept doing the stuff that causes it. As with a lot of people, im really fussy when it comes to stuff like that and it will then proceed to drive me nuts from that point on :S

As I said above, its most noticeable when you look at the edge of a building and both strafe and run together, maybe try yourself.

You think my last course of action would be a good idea? I.e. backup the game, reinstall and turn Auto Update off?

hmm can't reproduce what I saw earlier - was gonna record a vid to see if we were talking about the same thing :S

hmm maybe I should do the same. Again thnx for your comments, its doing my head in think im going to try reinstalling.

Its deffo not performance related the frame rate never changes, although I did see there were some texture fixes in the latest patch.
