Processor Upgrade help?

Hey ive been thinking about getting a Pentium D 2x3.4 but would it work in the place of my P4? there both soc 775 so i thought they would work but i need to know for sure from you guys first motherboard is a GA-8I915g-MF.

Any Ideas?
