is it possible at all that my toshiba c660 21q can take an i3 processor as there it another model c660 that has one already installed , currently have intel pentium p6100

So long as it is nit a ulv part yes. You could probably even go i5.

post CPU you want to put in.

if it's socket PGA988, same TDP and is supported by BIOS, you should be ok.

i see they do same model as my laptop with an i3 processor so ideally i want the i3 or i5 if possible

there's a list of CPUs that go into that socket, check which ones did come in C660 laptops, get one of those and you should be set.

i5 4x0 look good.

the Toshiba Satellite C660-155 has the Intel Core i3-380M processor, can see any with an i5 does meen that i3 is only one i can get

so ive decided to try the i3 330m first to make sure the i3 is compatible if all goes well will be getting the 380m that should be enought of a boost for doing my photo editing
