Hi guys

Would an i3 processor from a laptop fit a standard motherboard in a PC ?

Unfortunately not - mobile i3/i5/i7 use Sockets G1/G2/G3 rather the LGA1156/1155/1150/1151, that desktop processors use.

Laptop CPU's also don't tend to feature an integrated heat spreader (IHS).
