I`ll soon be building a new rig with the Bitfenix Prodigy case. I`ll be using the Asus P8Z77-I DELUXE with a 3570k and a Evga GTX 670 FTW.

I`ve read a few articles and I`m still unsure about what to do. I`d like to keep the dvd drive and watercool the cpu/gpu. As far as I can tell I could fit 2x120mm rads (top and back) and this would work. The loop would be:- Pump, rad1, cpu, rad2, gpu, res.

Can anyone give me an insight into what I`m intending?

I`d also like peoples input as to which water cooling components to use. I`d like the Swiftech Apogee drive II but it appears no one in the UK has them in stock so I was thinking about a pump res combo.

Thanks in advance.

If you want to get a DVD drive in id say its possible.

I have a 240 Rad in the top mount point, this leaves 6CM of space to the front of the case, clearly not enough for a optical drive.

A single 120MM rad mounted in the rear position on the top (has space for 2x120 or 1 240mm rad/fan) would leave 18CM of space from the rad to the front of the case, which (i dont have one on hand to measure) seems plenty to me, a CD is 12CM so....

You may however struggle to get a rad in the rear unless its particularly thin as once one is in the top there is very little clearance on the rear mount point. It really depends on the thickness of both rads tbh.

I think you'll be struggling to water cool both a CPU and GPU with a DVD drive in.

You could fit a 120 rad in the front below the DVD drive and a rad on the rear exhaust of the case.

I have a 240 and a 120 rad in my case cooling a GPU and CPU. I wouldn't want any less radiators in my build tbh.

I would personally get a slim line external drive and then water cool everything the best you can.

Have a look at my build log for ideas.
