Sorry for alll the nubie questions lately!

it really has been a while for me lol

i currently have this board

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-364-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

with an i5 overclocked to 4.4ghz with 4gb ram which came standard from overclockers

i have just purchased a 1000w psu to crossfire 2 x 7970 (i know one wont run at 16x but its just for now)

i want to maintain my overclock of 4.4ghz but i am wanting to change the memory from 4gb to 8gb and overclockers recommended this one?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-033-TG

but its currently out of stock

which would you recommend as an alternative and good to help keep my 4.4ghz overclock

thanks

RAM has nothing to do with your CPU overclock, as long as you stay at the same RAM speed (1600 mhz) you'll se no issues what-so-ever..

This RAM would be my choice. A quality kit.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9) £61.99
Total : £70.69 (includes shipping : £7.25).

By the way 1000W is pretty OTT for 2 x 7970's.. I hope you've picked a quality 1000W unit.

Thats a good unit...

Unfortunatly theres a lot of qulaity units out of stock like the 750w seasonic or the Antec gold 750W...

THough another option is the Corsair Ax 760W PSU. Its a silent powerful PSU of great quality.. Im 95% sure that the AX (not AXi) series are Seasonic made aswell so top-class performance.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Professional Series AX 760W '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply (CP-9020045-UK) £139.99
Total : £150.49 (includes shipping : £8.75).

Im not too up to date on EVGA PSU's though it does look good, especially for the money..

I don't think it'd be a bad decison to go for the EVGA.. Have you checked reviews and such..

I understand you have to be quick as the TWO deal will end soon..

Like i say, it seems legit but there is a statement which gives me the shivers:

The EVGA SuperNOVA G2 1000W uses slightly cheaper components than other high end PSUs with simmilar output power rating. The biggest downside is on our opinion is, that the promised "100% japanese capacitors" statement is not completely true, since there are also some Capxon capacitors, which are definitely not from Japan.

Considering you won't be using anywhere near the 1000w rating i doubt this will be a problem..

Though personally if the seasonic 750W was in stock, id be all over it. :)

If you're happy go for the EVGA, its not a bad purchase atall..

Its a stunning PSU. Seasonic made and solid as a rock.

I was looking at the 750W Gold one (that is out of stock) but that one should handle what you're doing with it. :)

Great choice.. As your not going for the EVGA it may be worth waiting for the new This Week Only deals.. You never know. :)
