Have you had a productive day at work ?

This morning I was told there wasnt enough work for me to stay in my department (PC & Laptop Repairs) and im the only one left in there. There were five people in there just before christmas !!

I have two choices, stop doing technical work and do admin work or find another job. Laptop repair jobs (my speciality) are few and far between so I guess im stuck in a rut yet again through no fault of my own.

My work was done by 9am and I started at 8.30am
Ive boxed up two PC's ready to be shipped out.
Thats it......

I spent the rest of the day sweating in the heat sat in my big swivel chair watching LOST and Rocky films..... I cant believe I get paid to do this

Anyone else stuck in a job thats wearing them down due to lack of work ??
Fed up and bored....

I cant just up and leave as im in the process of looking for my first home so not having a job is not an option right now.

Sorry for the rant..
B.

Absolutely...

...not.

I've spent the last 6 hours playing around with the same design I started working on at about 10 oclock. My head just isnt working properly today.

Not a productive day at all.

Sorted out a few problems, but nothing has really gone wrong. Dragged my lass off to the pub at lunch, had a few beers.. Came back just before 2 and done absolutely nothing...

Hang on, I've just enabled some SQL alerts. That's my work done then.

I had an annoying day at work yesterday.
Went in and there was 6 of us serving....and 5 tills. Seemed completely pointless to arrange for 6 of us to be in on one day when we had so few customers, we'd have been fine with just 3 people there.
I've been in on other days when there's only been 2 people in and we've had to call other branches to get cover.

Some awful rota arranging going on there :/

Today's been quite productive though, but not with work. Been home all day doing Uni work and got a fair chunk done.

Ive had a very productive day, mind you every friday is.

I build MS training courses all day so they all have to be ready for Monday morning, the rest of the week i spend surfing the web tho :o

Nope spent the last month getting paid to stay at home, play with the dog, do a bit of reading, netgotiate/ arrange my house purchase etc. I could probably compress everything I've done in the past month into about 3 days :/

Feel guilty too :(

Not really. I misheard a nun.

I thought she said "I put my ass in the paper last week"

What she really said was "I put my ad in the paper last week"

I was wetting myself laughing. It would certainly have had to be a rather specialist paper to feature her ass. Shes 84. :D

I had a productive day, though I went in at 6am when it was gloomy and raining a bit. Where i'm working is in the basement, so there are no windows, I think i made a bit of a fool of myself emerging from the building wearing a coat, brolly in hand :o

productive...pfft.

i meant to come in this morning at around 11/12...instead i headed into town with a few mates and had lunch for a few hours in the peace gardens - layed out in the sun...pfft, work, not till 3.30 tbh :D

Productive day at uni.

9:00 Got up and finished a report.
11:00 got report checked
11:00-12:30 made ammendments
12:30 Submitted report
1:00 had lunch
2:30 - drove home
3:30 > chilled :D

I have the misfortune to work for BT, and my job is repairing payphone equipment, those street internet terminals and a bit of prison work. Needless to say, no-one is using payphones these days, and BT is taking out as many as it can, subject to Ofcom and local Council approval. Hence, I've hardly any work, our department is making dramatically less money than it did and I'll probably soon me looking for another job :( I'm just hoping they'll give me a big pay-off to leave soon, as this is really getting me down - trying to appear busy when there's very little to do is really dispiriting after a while.......

Did a fair bit of work this morning (and generally been busy all week) but this afternoon I just ran out of steam. Been surfing the web, drinking tea and much more recently looking at two hotties outside in the car park checking out one of their new cars, it's really helped the end of my day pass quickly thou I believe I've been spotted by one said hottie now.

First week of the month always seems the worst, got loads of holiday booked off for June but it means the rest of May will drag a little.

Relatively productive. I spent most of the morning explaining to the troops why I hadn't told them about the MBO that went through last week then spent the afternoon (have just finished) sorting out when appraisals will take place and what pay rises I'll be giving.

This morning I went to Shepperton film studios to get kitted up in my gear for being an Extra. Was good fun and narrowly missed out on the most amazing part, unfortunately there wasn't any armour my size left!! :( felt totally gutted - I've still got a mediocre extra part though :)
Got back to work at 3, long day but only 2 hours of work :D

Hmmm, I've had a crappy day as well today. Had a crappy assembly (as usual), chemistry (Yawn, why will I need to know about covalent bonding when I'm older? I can't even spell it), boring old English revision, boring old "Exams are soon", boring old food tech and graphics revision. I hate having exams around the corner  . It was even worse when I got home today to do my paperound in this horrible heat, its murder! Sitting in my room doing foog-all atm :o
