Just for information in case no one has thought about it before (I learnt that rather recently): if shooting for panoramas, always shoot in manual or AP, and ensure the aperture stays the same, so that you don't have varying dof across the image. Let the shutter speed change.
And of course, retain the same ISO, WB, metering mode, etc.
